Canadian Embassy in Russia – Consular Services
If you are on holiday in Russia and lose your passport. You will need to report this to the Russian police. They will open a case and provide you with a case number from the police report. You will need to take this to the Canadian Embassy and complete the application form for reporting a lost passport. They Embassy will then provide you with a temporary travel document so that you can return home. If you are living in Russia then you will need to wait for a new passport.
Note that there is no Canadian Consulate in Moscow, only an Embassy. If you are getting married to a Russian national. You will need a letter from the Embassy to state that you are single and that you can legally get married. This will need to be translated and certified. You will then use this to register your marriage in Russia. Once complete you will need to do the reverse. You will need to have your marriage certificate translated and certified. This needs to be used at the Embassy to take your Russian wife home with you. You will then need a Canadian spouse visa or a partner visa for Canada.
If you have given birth while in Russia. You will need the original birth registration documents and have these all translated and certified. There is a Canadian Consulate in Russia. This Canadian Consulate is located in Vladivostok. The Consulate is located at – 707-59 Krasnogo Znameni prospekt, Vladivostok 690002, Russia.
