If you have lost your passport as a Canadian while in Tunisia, you need to report this to the police. They will then open a criminal case and provide you with the case number. The Embassy will want you to have this case number when you apply for a new passport. This will show that the loss or theft has been reported.

If you are getting married in Tunisia then you will need to prove that you are single. You will need to apply at the Embassy for a letter of freedom to marry also called a letter of no impediment. They will tell you when to collect the letter after you have completed the application form. You will then need to have this letter translated and certified as being authentic. You can then use this to register your marriage in Tunisia with the local government.
