Canadian EmbassyIf you live or are on holiday in the Ukraine then you can ask the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine for assistance if you are a Canadian citizen. Also if you need assistance with applying for a passport, registering a death. Also to registering a birth or registering a marriage then the Embassy in Kyiv will be able to assist.

Note that there is an Embassy in Kiev and also a consulate in L’viv. The contact details are listed below including that of the consulate. Note that they can issue you with a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage if you are getting married in the Ukraine. Also note their operating hours, telephone numbers and also their location and a map to the Embassy.

If you are in Ukraine and have lost your passport then the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine will be able to assist you. You will need to report the lose to the local police and the Ukrainian police will issue you with a case number. Also you will require then when you report the matter to the Embassy. You will need to complete the forms and then provide them with the police case number as well. The Embassy will then issue you with a temporary passport so you can leave the country. If you live in Ukraine you could wait on a new permanent passport.

If you planning on visiting Canada as a tourist you can apply for the tourist visa. Also a Canadian study visa if you are going to learn at a registered institution. If you are getting married in the Ukraine. You will need a letter from the Embassy or Consulate to prove that you are not married. If you are divorced you will normally need the original divorce decree with you. With this letter you can now have it translated and certified and use this to register your marriage in the Ukraine. Once this is complete you will need to translate the marriage certificate. Then the translation certified. You can now apply for a Canadian spouse visa for your new spouse and take them back to Canada. There is also a partner visa for Canada if you can apply for that.
