Canadian Embassy in El Salvador
Should you be on holiday and lost your passport then it needs to be reported to the local police. They will give you a card with the case number on it. You will then need to speak to the Canadian Embassy in El Salvador. There you will need to complete the needed forms and then give then the case number from the police. Once this has all been verified they will issue you with a temporary travel document so that you can go home. Else they can also issue you with a new passport if you live in the country. This is the same as with the Canadian Embassy in Spain.
If you wanted to get married you will need a letter from the Embassy to state that you are single. You will need to apply for this at the Embassy and most days you get it the following day or later. This does change. Note that your letter of freedom to marry or non impediment letter will need to be translated and certified for the local government. you can then get married and when done have this translated and certified for the Canadian Embassy. Your spouse can then apply for a spousal visa for Canada for your wife or husband.
