If you are on holiday in Russia and lose your passport. You will need to report this to the Russian police. They will open a case and provide you with a case number from the police report. Because you will need to take this to the Canadian Embassy and complete the application form for reporting a lost passport. Notwithstanding the Embassy will then provide you with a temporary travel document so that you can return home. In conclusion, if you are living in Russia then you will need to wait for a new passport.

Firstly note that there is no Canadian Consulate in Moscow, only an Embassy. Similarly, if you are getting married to a Russian national. You will need a letter from the Embassy to state that you are single and that you can legally get married. This will need to be translated and certified. Moreover you will then use this to register your marriage in Russia. Once complete you will need to do the reverse. Then you will need to have your marriage certificate translated and certified. This needs to be used at the Embassy to take your Russian wife home with you. You will then need a Canadian spouse visa or a partner visa for Canada.
