Embassy of Canada in Hungary
If you are in Hungary on holiday and lose your passport then it needs to be reported to the police in Hungary. They will give you the needed paperwork and case number to give to the Embassy. You will need to complete the needed forms and add the police report to it. The Embassy will now issue you with a emergency travel document. If you are an expat in Hungary you will need to ask about a brand new passport.
If you are getting married you will need to obtain a letter from the Embassy to state that you are single and able to get married. They usually call this a letter of no-impediment. You will need this for the Hungarian government. Once the marriage has been registered you will need to have the marriage certificate translated and certified. You can then use this for a Canadian spouse visa for your Hungarian wife or husband.
If you gave birth then the original documents fro the Hungarian government will be needed. You will then have these translated and certified. From there you can register a Canadian born abroad. You will then be able to obtain the identity card and passport for the child.
