Canadian EmbassyThis is the Canadian Embassy in Syria. Canada suspended the operations of its Embassy in Damascus on March 05, 2012, in response to the deteriorating security situation. Until that date, Canada’s diplomatic presence in Syria made it possible to maintain direct links with the Syrian people, monitor events on the ground, and deliver tough messages to the Syrian authorities — despite the risks.

The Embassy of Canada to Syria in Damascus has suspended operations. The Embassy of Canada to Lebanon in Beirut’s ability to provide consular and other support throughout Syria is very limited. Canadians in Syria and their relatives seeking information should contact the Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa.

Contact the Canadian Embassy in Lebanon for consular assistance. There is also the Canadian Consulate in Oman as well as the Canadian Consulate in Yemen which has also closed.
