If you are in Ghana and lost your Canadian passport then this needs to be reported to the police. When you go to the Canadian High Commission in Ghana. You will need to provide them with the case number for the lost or stolen passport. They will then process your passport application and tell you when to collect your passport or temporary travel document. You can also ask about a public notary and how best to get your documents notarized.

Consular Assistance

Should you be getting married, you have to apply for a letter of no impediment. This certifies that you are single and able to get married. It takes a while and when you get it the letter must be translated and certified. You can then use this to register your marriage in Ghana as a Canadian citizen. If you gave birth in Ghana you will need to collect all the government documents from Ghana. Have these translated and certified.

Then make an appointment with the Canadian High Commission in Ghana. Register the child there. You will need all your documents, your Canadian passport as well as  the child would have to be brought to the Canadian High Commission  Offices.
