If you are going to register a birth or a Canadian born abroad. You will need to have the original documents from the Belgium government that has been certified and translated. If you have lost your passport while on holiday then it needs to be reported to the police. They will provide you with a case number. The Embassy will need to case number to provide you with a temporary travel document or new passport.

If you are going to report a marriage then again you will require the original documents from the government department and have it translated and certified for the Embassy.
