If you have lost your passport then you will need to report this to the French police. They will give you a case number and you will need to take this to the Embassy. Note that you will be issued with an emergency travel document. If you live in france then you will need to speak about being issued a new passport.

If you have given birth in France then you will need all the original French government documents. You will then need to have this translated as well as certified.
